Laura
I was born and raised in Hot Springs, Arkansas. After college, I moved to Chicago, IL, where I now live with my husband, Alpesh, and our two yorkies, Harry and Bella.
I’ve been crafting since I was a little girl. My mother was a master at making personalized gifts that were both simple and meaningful and I always knew I wanted to do the same. My grandmother taught me needlework when I was 14 and my mother taught me how to crochet and knit when I was 16. I’ve had a hook or a needle in my hand ever since.
Professionally,
I’ve found a way to add a personal touch to every role I’ve had in business. My background is in marketing and business development, but I believe it is my creative side that has fueled my success. Everyone remembers something unexpected, different, and thoughtful (notice I didn’t say beautiful…because not everything you make will be quite what you imagined.). By letting my personality be reflected in the things I make; I’ve always been able to add a personal touch and be remembered.
There is nothing you can buy someone these days that they can’t buy themselves… but making a gift is special and lets someone know they are important. Personalizing it and making it unique to that person is what makes a gift unforgettable and that is what I am passionate about.
